Medicine and Community Weekend Retreat
With Alex and Jacquelyn Myrin. Small enough to know one another.
The whole weekend is the work.
What can you expect when you participate in a retreat weekend or Master Plant Dieta at Tikkun? The unexpected. By that, we mean that your experience will be unique to you, no matter how much research you may have done or how many stories you may have heard about the medicine, there is no substitute for experience.
At Tikkun, we hold the medicine with great reverence as a powerful and sacred master plant teacher. It will support you to release energies and patterns that do not reflect the truth of who you are, and that is an important aspect of healing. At the same time, there is a component of learning and self discovery to this process that begins to build awareness, leading to more presence in your life. Our ceremonies are a journey into the unknown, and catalysts for deep transformation and growth.
An essential component of that transformation is trust. Trusting yourself, trusting the facilitators, trusting in a process that may seem mysterious to you. By signing up for a ceremony or weekend at Tikkun, you have already stepped into the vibration of learning trust. You can expect the process of learning to deepen as the weekend unfolds, as more layers are shed with each ceremony. The integration conversations, breathwork, and a gentle yoga class present more opportunities to connect with yourself, to soften, to slow down and practice presence, to practice what you are learning.
At Tikkun, our intention is to be of service and to support you in your process. It is our intention to hold a safe and sacred space for all who decide to do this work with us, for all who are ready and willing to give to themselves. Attempting to do the work for you would be a great disservice to your healing and growth. As facilitators and space-holders who are immersed in the process of learning and transformation, we are also students of this plant-medicine path. What this path is and will be for you can only be revealed by discovering it, one step at a time.

How we hold it
We serve this the way we were taught to meet it — through the discipline of the master plant dietas, the long quiet work of sitting with the plant teachers until what they have to teach lives in the body rather than in a notebook. We don't talk much about that during a ceremony. We would rather it simply be felt: in the steadiness of the room, and in the quality of attention we bring to it.
Integration is not an afterthought
It is where the work becomes yours. In the sharing and integration circles we slow down and make meaning together, so that what happened does not evaporate the moment you drive out of the gate. A ceremony may open something. Integration is how you come to understand it, hold on to it, and live it.
Safety and humility
We hold this with both — clear-eyed about what we are working with, never above it, and in service to the people who trust us to sit with them. You are safe here to go as deep as you are ready to go.
What it feels like.
-
Friday
Arrive in the late afternoon and settle. Orientation before anything begins, so everyone knows what the evening holds. Ceremony after dark, and something light to eat afterwards.
-
Saturday
A slow start. Movement, then the first integration circle — time to say out loud what the night was, which is often where it starts to make sense. Lunch, then a long stretch with nothing scheduled. Breathwork in the afternoon, and the second ceremony that night.
-
Sunday
Breakfast, a final integration circle, and a closing circle. We finish around the middle of the day, so nobody is driving home exhausted.
The shape of the weekend varies. This is the rhythm, not a timetable.
Who comes to this.
- People who feel called to go deeper — looking for clarity, prayer, connection, and a more honest relationship with themselves and with G-d.
- People who are not after a quick escape, but a meaningful process held with care, humility and respect.
- People willing to do the preparation. It is asked of everyone, and it makes more difference than most expect.
- Anyone under a clinician's care, or taking prescribed medication, should talk to them before registering. Some conditions and medications make participation unsafe, and that is covered properly at intake.
Sacred medicine ceremonies within this retreat are conducted by Tikkun Healing Center, an affiliated spiritual organization.
Retreat registration, accommodations, programming, and payment are managed by Tikkun Retreats. A donation is made to Tikkun Healing Center on the participant's behalf for ceremony participation.

Your facilitators
Alex Myrin
Lead facilitator · Integration guide
Alex Myrin is a plant medicine practitioner and yoga and breathwork teacher. Alex’s intention is to create a safe space for you to heal and return to a natural state of well-being. As a military veteran who struggled with treatment-resistant PTSD and tried conventional talk therapy for almost a decade with no improvement, he was willing to try anything to get better. The medicine proved to be a powerful catalyst that made deep healing possible for Alex. Facilitating this work and being of service to others is a continuation of that healing journey.
Alex is an experienced guide that is here to hold a safe space for people while they heal and integrate mind, body, and spirit. As a key part of his dedication to this path, Alex regularly travels to Peru to complete Master Plant dietas with Shipibo maestros. Whether you think of him as a shaman, medicine man, or plant medicine practitioner, he is quick to remind people that the work is not about becoming something, but rather to un-become. Returning to your true, pure essence is what happens when you release a lifetime of accumulated trauma and let go of the false beliefs the world taught you about yourself.
Jacquelyn Myrin
Lead facilitator · Breathwork and yoga teacher
Jacquelyn Myrin is an energy healer, plant medicine practitioner, and yoga teacher. She was introduced to the world of plant medicine through her husband, Alex. Jacquelyn was inspired to explore the inner work thanks to his example, which led to a profound healing experience with the medicine that changed everything. Her intention is to be of service to others by helping them connect to their own inner wisdom as they heal and learn self-love. She believes that all roads lead back to the heart and encourages those feeling the call to try plant medicine to lean into the process. On the other side of that journey is deep, rewarding healing.
Jacquelyn is passionate about the transformative power of plant medicine. As a healer and guide with a grounding, comforting presence, she is here to be of service to others as they heal and come home to themselves. If you ask her about her first experience with the medicine, she’ll tell you that she’s been changed ever since. “It was so deeply profound. I now know that it’s safe to love authentically, that it’s safe to be vulnerable. That is where my strength lies.”
Before you register.
When should I arrive?
Friday afternoon, between about 4:00 and 5:30. Arriving in daylight, without rushing, is part of it.
Is there anything to do beforehand?
Yes. There is a preparation period before the weekend, including dietary guidance, and your last meal should be early on the Friday. It is sent to you after you register, and it matters more than people expect.
What are the meals like?
Vegetarian and kosher, cooked on site, and eaten together. Tell us about allergies and dietary needs when you register.
Do I need to have done this before?
No. Plenty of people at any given weekend have not. Nobody is expected to arrive knowing how this works.
What if I would rather not take part in a ceremony?
Say so. The rest of the weekend — the meals, the circles, the breathwork, the grounds — stands on its own, and nobody is pushed.
What if the room I wanted is already taken?
Register anyway. The private rooms are limited and they do fill, but there is always a shared-accommodation option — a bunk room and an indoor air-conditioned room, taking up to sixteen people between them — so nobody is turned away for want of a bed.
Can I come with a partner or a friend?
Yes. Tell us when you register and we will sort the sleeping arrangements out with you; if the private rooms have gone, shared accommodation is still there. Some people find coming with someone easier; some find it gets in the way. Worth a conversation first.
What should I bring?
Comfortable clothes for indoors and out, something warm for the evening, and a notebook if you use one. There is nothing you need to buy.
